What is the cutting effect of the CNC cutting machine? Use these five points to judge

1. The width of the incision: it is one of the most important characteristic values for evaluating the cutting quality of the CNC cutting machine, and it also reflects the radius size of the smallest circle that the CNC cutting machine can cut.

It is measured by the size of the widest part of the incision, and the incision width of most plasma cutting machines is between 0.3~6mm. Impact:

1. Too wide incision will not only waste material, but also reduce cutting speed and increase energy consumption.

2. The width of the incision is mainly related to the diameter of the nozzle. Generally speaking, the width of the incision is always 10%~40% larger than the diameter of the nozzle.

3. When the cutting thickness increases, it is often necessary to use a larger nozzle aperture, and the incision will also be widened.

4. The increase in the width of the incision will increase the deformation of the cutting piece.

2. Surface roughness: It is used to describe the appearance of the cut surface of the CNC cutting machine, and to determine whether reprocessing is required after cutting with the CNC cutting machine.

It is the Ra value measured on the cross section at 2/3 of the depth of the cut. The main form is cutting corrugations as a result of longitudinal vibrations in the cutting advance direction due to the action of the cutting air flow. Generally, the surface roughness after cutting by oxyacetylene method is required: Grade 1 Ra≤30µm, Grade 2 Ra≤50µm, Grade 1 Ra≤100µm. The kerf Ra value of plasma arc cutting usually exceeds the level of flame cutting, but is lower than the Ra value of laser kerf (less than 50µm)

3. The verticality of the incision:

It is also an important parameter reflecting the cutting quality of the CNC cutting machine, which is related to the degree of reprocessing required after the cutting of the CNC cutting machine.

This indicator is commonly expressed as verticality U or angle tolerance. Generally speaking: the U value of plasma arc cutting is closely related to the plate thickness and process parameters. Common plasma is usually U≤(3%~5%), fine plasma is usually U≤(1%~3%), and laser cutting is usually at U≤(1%~3%). U≤0.5mm.

Fourth, the width of the heat affected zone:

This index is very important for those low-alloy or alloy steels that can be hardened or heat-treatable, and an excessively wide heat-affected zone width will significantly change the performance near the CNC cutting machine's incision. The heat-affected zone width of air plasma arc cutting is about 0.3mm, and the heat-affected zone width can be narrower when underwater plasma arc cutting.

5. The amount of hanging slag:

It describes the amount of oxide slag or re-solidified material that adheres to the lower edge of the incision after cutting by the hot CNC cutting machine. The level of dross is usually determined by visual observation and is generally described in terms of none, minor, moderate and severe.

Summary: The above five evaluation points are to evaluate the cutting effect of the CNC cutting machine. Although the CNC cutting machine has a large role, strong functions and a wide range of applications. However, users must choose a guaranteed manufacturer when purchasing a CNC cutting machine.
